Reidler Makes Commitment to Nebraska-Omaha

Saints Goaltender Headed to NCHC

DUBUQUE, IA - Fighting Saints goaltender Kevin Reidler has announced his commitment to play Division I hockey at the University of Nebraska-Omaha.

Fresh off winning the USHL Goaltender of the Week award for the third time this season, Reidler announced he had come to a decision on his collegiate future.

"I'm extremely excited to announce my commitment to continue my career at UNO," Reidler said. "I would like to thank everyone behind the Dubuque Fighting Saints for making this possible."

Reidler has been a fortifying presence in Dubuque's net this year, which earned him a spot on Team Sweden's Silver-Medal winning roster at the World Junior Championships. When Reidler returned to Dubuque, he stopped 61 of 64 shots against the USA U17 squad in a pair of wins last weekend.

"Kevin has adjusted seamlessly to the North American game and has been a huge reason for our team's success so far this season," said head coach Kirk MacDonald. "We are excited for him to commit to UNO and have no doubt he will continue to excel at the college level next season."

Reidler has won 14 of his 21 games so far for the Saints, tying for the most wins in the USHL this season. Reidler is fourth with a .905 save percentage and has faced the second-most shots (664) of any qualified goalie.

Reidler has made 30-plus saves in 12 of his 21 games, facing a lot of pressure and standing tall in the Dubuque net.
