The Dupaco Cowbell Cup is returning for the 2026-27 season, showcasing four teams vying for eastern Iowa's hockey title again this season. The Dubuque Fighting Saints, seven-time defending Cowbell Cup Champions, will square off against the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders, Des Moines Buccaneers and Waterloo Black Hawks throughout the 2026-27 campaign to make up the Cowbell Cup schedule.
New for 2026-27, the Dupaco Cowbell Cup Standings will be based on an average of each team's point percentage against the three other Cowbell Cup opponents. In this format, all Cowbell Cup matchups count toward the standings and each game carries equal weight to account for the imbalanced schedule between the four teams. For example, the Saints' position in the standings will be calculated by adding their point percentage against each of the other three teams and dividing the total by three.
In addition to seven-straight Dupaco Cowbell Cup championships, the Saints lead all teams with 10 total Cowbell Cup titles. No other team boasts more than four wins as the Fighting Saints have taken 10 of the 15 total titles.
