Dubuque Fighting Saints

JoAnne Gibson serves as Education Coordinator for the Dubuque Fighting Saints and has been a member of the organization since 2010.

Gibson oversees the academic support of Fighting Saints players, working with players, families, schools and the hockey operations staff to help each player remain academically prepared while pursuing his hockey development.

A longtime educator, Gibson earned a Master of Arts in Teaching from the University of Wisconsin–Platteville and taught at Dubuque Senior High School from 1975 through 2008. She has also served as an adjunct faculty member at Northeast Iowa Community College.

Under Gibson’s leadership, academic achievement has become an important part of the Fighting Saints’ development program.

Her work helps ensure Fighting Saints players are prepared not only for their next step in hockey, but also for their transition to college and continued academic success.
