Dubuque, IA — The 2022-23 Plays of the Year Tournament has finally come to a finish with
Max Burkholder's short handed dangle and score against the Green Bay Gamblers taking the top spot!
Burkholder led all Fighting Saints players with five total plays in this years tournament and had multiple plays with deep runs into the tournament. Burkholder had four of the final eight plays and went up against himself in the Championship round.

Dubuque, IA — While the 2022-23 Fighting Saints season may have come to an end, there is still one more competition to be finished, as the Fighting Saints Play of the Year tournament returns. Over the next three weeks, fans will once again get to vote for and select the Play of the Year from the 2022-23 campaign through a 26 "team" bracket-style tournament.
Throughout the year, the Fighting Saints have posted the US-Cellular Call of the Game weekly and the Top 5 MOO-ves of the Month presented by Prairie farms. After the season, we selected the best of the best and put them into a bracket and seeded them. In total, there are three hits, six saves, five goals by defenseman, and twelve goals by forwards with fourteen different players represented.
Starting on Wednesday, May 24, fans will vote to advance plays on to the next round based on bracketed match-ups. Fans can vote on DubuqueFightingSaints.com or can follow along on our Facebook and Twitter pages to vote there as well. Voting for each round will open at 4 pm CT and will last approximately two days for each match-up, all culminating in the 2022-23 Play of the Year being announced during 2023 Main Camp on Friday, June 16.
Each match-up on DubuqueFightingSaints.com will show both plays and have a poll for fans to vote on the better play, with the highest vote total advancing. Fans may only vote once per match-up. Winning plays will be updated within this story as well as on our social media pages.
