DUBUQUE, IA - The Dubuque Fighting Saints (10-2-1-2, 23 pts) host the Youngstown Phantoms (11-3-1-0, 23 pts) to finish a weekend set on Saturday night in Dubuque.
Â
Here are five things to know ahead of the matchup:
Â
1. Tight Tilt
On Friday night, the Fighting Saints fell 5-4 in a shootout to the Phantoms. Both teams are tied with 23 points atop the Eastern Conference heading into Saturday night's contest.
In Friday's game, each team held two separate one-goal leads that evaporated and led to overtime. The game eventually went to a shootout and Youngstown's Finn McLaughlin scored the lone goal to earn Youngstown the extra point.
Â
2. Military Appreciation Night
Saturday night is the Saints annual Military Appreciation Night presented by Hirschbach Motor Lines. Dubuque is wearing specialty Military-themed jerseys that will be auctioned off after the contest.
Proceeds from the auction will go to Dubuque's Veterans Freedom Center.
Â
3. Saints Streaks
James Reeder added a goal in Friday's game to extend his point-streak to six. Over that stretch, he has four goals and seven assists for 11 total points.
Teddy Merrill scored his fourth goal of the season on Friday night, converting for the second-consecutive game for Dubuque.
Â
4. Special Teams
Friday night was the first game in the first 15 of the season in which Dubuque had at least one power-play chance and was unable to convert. The Saints went 0-for-3 on Friday with the man-advantage.
However, Reeder's goal and Caelum Dick's tally to force overtime both came just seven seconds after a power play ended.Â
Â
5. Phantom Points
Youngstown entered Friday with the league's third-best defense, averaging just 2.6 goals allowed per game. Dubuque scored four against the Phantoms on Friday night.
It was just the fifth time in 15 games that Youngstown allowed more than three goals. Dubuque has scored at least four times in all but one game this season.

Saturday's game begins at 7:05 p.m. CST at ImOn Arena.Â
